About Us

Hello!

Welcome to Basketcase.ie which I founded in 2015. I’m Stefanie Caffrey and I’ve come a long way since working in a financial administration role where I’d daydream about winning the lotto! It all changed when an events company my sister worked for had a client in need of Irish themed luxury gift baskets for their Canadian guests. They were running out of time to source and prepare these so I suggested outsourcing it to me to save them the time and worry. I came up with the idea of presenting a basket of artisan Irish goodies in a small Bodhran (Irish drum) so that their guests could enjoy the snacks and have a little bit of Ireland to take home with them. These went down a storm.

This got me thinking that there was no service available in Ireland where you could easily order specific hampers or gift baskets that are tailored to your requirements. There are many companies that need a creative and eye catching way of presenting their product whilst also including their branding as a key part of the presentation. I spotted this niche in the market for gift baskets and hampers that go beyond the average hamper that is available today. From that point Basketcase.ie was born.

In my spare time I enjoy trawling through sites like Pinterest and Etsy for inspiration, light (and very sporadic) exercise and looking after my dog Snooki. Sometimes my ideas are a bit out there and farfetched but I like to go the extra mile to make them happen. I’m not sure how I should feel about the amount of people that have told me Basketcase is a very apt name for my company, but if the shoe fits…

Employee of the Month!

This is Patricia aka Patsi aka Mum, who has been awarded Employee of the Month every month since the company’s inception. She has a very versatile skill set, her responsibilities have ranged from gluing fabric to crates, lending her car for deliveries, to taking the washing and dropping down dinner on a very busy day! She loves golf, a Sunday roast, taking pictures with her iPhone and walking the legs off the dog. Basketcase.ie would not be where it is without her, she is an integral part of the company. Thanks Mum!
